travnik,
I don't know much about running Linux inside of Windows, except it doesn't strike me as a reasonable proposition.
You should, however, be able to just reinstall Mint back over your broken install and everything should be back working again.
If you want to set the MBR back so Windows controls it again, download and burn the latest stable version of SuperGrub live cd iso. You can use it to boot into Windows or to fix the MBR for Windows only.

Re: uninstalling linux problem with boot menu
If you have your Vista DVD, you can boot that as well to fix this.

Re: uninstalling linux problem with boot menu
if you boot a windows cd & run the repair option, until you get a dos prompt,
then type " fixmbr " & hit enter. - that will overwrite GRUB & get rid of that boot option.
Then re-install Mint7 if you want to.
