As for your list ...
I don't know what it is that people see in PhotoShop, I find GIMP far better suited to my needs. But then again I am using exclusively Linux since 1996 ... And somehow I survived without PhotoShopjett wrote:photoshop
Did you try Cedega? http://www.transgaming.com ... It even works with some newer titles, speed is OK. I myself have a minimum Windows XP installation somewhere on a partition which I use from time to time for games; I don't use Windows XP for anything else. Besides I am considering to buy a Nintendo Wii or a Sony PlayStation3 ... or both. So gaming on the PC is not that much of a topic if you use consoles anyway ...jett wrote:along with games dont work
I definitely don't think so!jett wrote:and linux is missing alot of applications

It should be noted that some of those tools I mentioned above are available via "apt-get install ... " or synaptic; some others need to be downloaded and compiled manually as the writers don't have the time to create packages for all the many Linux distros.
You should talk to Adobe Inc. and tell them to make native Linux versions of their closed-source commercial applications. However, both applications you mention up there should be able to run via CrossOver: http://www.codeweavers.com/jett wrote:adobe flash replacement
adobe dreamweaver replacement
And there is the Flash for Linux project ... I think they are still too new and haven't got any downloadable package yet. In order to get their software you'd have to use CVS (just follow their instructions): http://f4l.sourceforge.net/ ... And here are some nice screenshots: http://sourceforge.net/project/screensh ... p_id=87799

What do you need that one for???? I may be wrong, but I think it is available here: http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Text-Edi ... 2029.shtmljett wrote:netbeans ide c++
There are tons of other IDE's in Linux. Eclipse for example, that can handle most stuff a programmer would need. Maybe you could take a look at this list here?

Many if not most of the free development tools that are listed there are available via synaptic. The commercial closed-source ones have to be purchased and downloaded from their makers' websites, obviously.

Besides, if you put the right repositories into your /etc/apt/sources.list, you can easily download GoogleEarth via synaptic
Quod erat demonstrandum!jett wrote:if im wrong and you guys know replacements for these,
But hey, if you still like Windows XP better, you're of course free to use that (you have a license, right? ). Nobody forces you to use Linux.
