Mint & VB.NET

Post by Shaddix »

in school I have to learn .net (especially vb.net)

now I like to work as much as possible in Mint, but for these .net lessons I always boot in XP

is there any way to develop .net in Mint as easy as in XP?

the mono project is a free software reimplementation of the .net framework, I believe the IDE is called "monodevelop" in the Package Manager.

yes, after some experimentation I decided to do my VB.NET coding in Virtual Box, I might give MonoDevelop a shot for C# and ASP because that part looks quite ok

Even if you became a .Net developer, you might not use Mono, for these same reasons.

Also, after a while, you might want to have a look at Gambas for object oriented basic development
