Change Default Audio Player Through Terminal

Post by Terrior »

Hello everyone, I'm looking to make a program to quickly switch between two default music players. I know I can do this by opening the "Preferred Applications" window and changing it there manually, but I'd like to know if it's possible to switch it quickly through the terminal. I'm new to Linux, and don't have too much experience with the terminal so far.

Mint Version: 20.1 Cinnamon 64-bit
Thank you.

AFAIK you'd have to edit the file mimeapps.list with elevated priviliges. The GUI way is faster.
