Hibernate Problems

Post by jbaerbock »

Hi I just installed Mint a few days ago and love. It isn't a big deal for it not to work but when I try to Hibernate it does so perfectly fine, however when I start it up again later the screen goes funny then turns black and everything freezes. I have yet to have a successful start after a Hibernate (note I sometimes though rarely had this problems in Windows with this laptop too way back when). I have not tries suspend yet but will update my post when I do.

I never trust suspend or hibernate.

there are other posts about them not working.

try ctl-atl-backspace to restart gnome if it goes all black.
it may solve your problem but all open apps will be gone.

:D

Ok thanks, is there any distro that has hibernate and/or suspend working? Just curious, thanks again.

More or less all distros have hibernate and suspend more or less working :)
I'm not trying to make fun of you but it seems that it's a general problem with varying severity
