[solved]trash icon

Post by houndhen »

Just started using Mint 7. KDE. I was trying things out and deleted the trash icon by clicking on the X in the black shadow box when I hovered over it with my mouse. Did some web searching and in this forum for how to restore it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Right click on the Desktop Folder, choose Link To Location from the drop down dialogue and provide the path to Trash. (trash/), then just select the icon for Trash and you should be all set.

Thanks. I got it back before I got your reply. I made the plasma dashboard visible and added a widget for the trash can.

Glad you got it back to normal. Fixing that was still pretty fresh in my mind because I had just changed the default Desktop Folder in Kubuntu 9.10. Kubuntu 9.10 displays the folders in home by default and I wanted just the trash and home folder displayed so I had to do this manually. Glad you got your trash icon back!
