Hi,
I installed Simple Backup, which now appears in the menu, but it won't launch from the menu. Where can I find the files to try to launch it directly? I have tried to search for them by entering "simple backup" and "sbackup" into the Gnome Search Tool, but it finds nothing.
Many thanks.

Is this the software?: http://simplelinuxbkup.sourceforge.net/#downld
If so, that page says you need to run the config script first from the command line. Try that...

Re: Simple backup won't open from menu
Yes, this is the software I think. But I simply installed it with the package manager (sbackup). Problem is I don't know which directory it's installed into. However, I've found I can launch it with Gnome Do.
Re: Simple backup won't open from menu
Type "whereis sbackup" in a terminal.rdh61 wrote:Problem is I don't know which directory it's installed into.

I am having the same problem too, it wont run from the gnome menu but when i navigate to menu/control centre/administration and click on the icon it runs ok. Very strange.
Re: Simple backup won't open from menu
Right click on the Menu button, choose "Edit Menu", find the simple backup entry, edit it, what is the command line in the menu showing???
