Applications list

Post by mzweili »

I installed Gnome games on my laptop running Helena. Every thing worked fine. After several regular updates all the Gnome-games disapeared from the applications list. Uninstall and re-install of the games didn't change anything. How can I get access to these games again?
Thanks for your help
Marc

Haven't used this version yet, but..

Linux mint 7 main edition
  • apt search gnome-games
p gnome-games - games for the GNOME desktop
p gnome-games-data - data files for the GNOME games
p gnome-games-extra-data - games for the GNOME desktop (extra artwork
Try a reinstall of those entries (Gnome-games, Gnome-games-data, Gnome-games-extra-data)

In terminal, check
  • sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install Gnome-games
    --what is the result ?
The applications list should be in /usr/share/applications
--including the desktop files

You could also try re-adding the mintmenu right-click Gnome panel>Add to panel>Mintmenu
--as well as the familiar reload plugins right-click Mint menu icon>Reload plugins

sudo apt-get update
no problem with this
sudo apt-get install Gnome-games results in:
Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait
OK
Construction de l'arbre des dépendances

Lecture des informations d'état... Fait
OK
E: Impossible de trouver le paquet Gnome-games
impossible to find Gnome-games

/usr/share/applications
in fact all apps are there, and I copied my prefered (Sudoku) to the desktop

I don't understand your recommendation
