Games sub menus don't work

Postby remoulder on Thu Dec 03, 2009 5:33 pm

Not sure if this is by design, but noticed in Mint Menu 4.9.1 on Helena that the Games menu shows everything in one long list, despite everything being organised by category and all categories ticked in the menu editor?

Also a minor point, but on the default install, the menu shows gedit under accessories without a generic name (e.g. Text Editor). This looks a little odd and out of place.

Someone will clarify if I'm wrong, but I think where installed items appear in the main menu is determined by the package maintainers for those games; they can be manually moved about or categorised using alacarte, though, I think.

Couldn't reproduce here on Helena; gedit appears as "gedit" with "Edit text files" as description. Under mintMenu preferences there are options controlling this behaviour in the applications ("show application comments" checkbox) and favourites tabs ("swap name and generic name").

rich-roast, I think you're missing my point here, I have organised things into categories but Mint Menu ignores that and just shows everything in one long list.

But that is my point, other items in the default install use the generic description whereas gedit just appears like that, which looks odd.
