The Live CD doesn't ask you that ... And if you installed to the (virtual) harddisk, the username and password are whatever you defined during the installation.mddt wrote:I don't know the user and the password to use for the login!!!

try the user name mint and no password.
I have installed the vmware server on a xp system and created an vm and booted mint off it, then installed it once once it loaded.
gotchas: the vm need about 512MB or ram allocated to it and dont go over the recomended max ram due to disk thrashing issues.
