Compatible webcams: a list

Since I don't know of any compatible webcams, and it's really hard to find information on this subject, I'm wondering if mint users would be willing to share information on what webcams work with Linux mint. And there are far too many questions left answered in my searches within the forum, and my past queries have simply died without a real answer. Not to mention that whatever guides I've found for a webcam that I already have never seems to work no matter what I do or how many questions I ask.

So, if you have a cam that works with mint, and it works "out-of-the-box" with an "out-of-the-box" version of mint or with very little apps installed for it, or without having to have to resort to the terminal, I think that would relieve a lot of new users' stress over this accursed issue, including mine, if you share information.

Thanks in advance. I hope this thread is successful too and eventually gets stickied after it proves itself to be useful.

edit: oh, might as well add what major programs it works with (flash, skype, whatever messengers, etc.)

Sorry, can't give you anything definitive, because if you are planning on using it with Skype, it could be anyone's guess if ANY will work or not !
