I understand that this is a general question not only for mints, but for all linux in general, but I think it is still related to the multimedia/codecs topics.
I understand that youtube is flash .flv files. In windows there are several programs to capture video from youtube.com. How do we capture the video stream in Linux? Is there any utility/steps/tricks to do it?

Hi, for that I'm using a Firefox extension called VideoDownloader, it enables you to download the .flv, which you can then read with VLC.
I'm still looking for a .swf reader, though.
Also, I stumbled upon a site which does the job for you, just paste the URL in it. Google for "Dailysuck"...
