Re: make program in wine link to desktop?
If you have any Wine apps (installed via Wine Doors) already in the Menu, right-click the Menu, choose Edit Menu, drill down to one of your Wine games/apps, click Edit, and copy the command line, changing any directory locations, and of course the file name . .
This is what one of mine looks like : env WINEPREFIX="/home/richyrich/.wine/" wine "C:\SIERRA\Hoyle Casino 2003\Hoyle_Casino.EXE"
Hope this helps, richy

Re: make program in wine link to desktop?
Why not just navigate to each program's executable file (from the Wine menu item "Browse C:\ drive") and drag its icon to the desktop? That works here on a GNOME desktop.
Re: make program in wine link to desktop?
All I do is:
Right click on the desktop > Create Launcher > Click on the Browse button next to the Command field > Press Ctrl + H to see hidden folders > Scroll to the .Wine folder > drive_c folder > Program Files folder and then select the .exe file from whatever program I want to use.
Then fill in the rest of the fields in the Launcher:
Name = Name of the program.
Comment = Description of the program.
If you click on the little spring button then you can also select an image. If you have an image file for the program you're using then you can even put that in the /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/ folder as a .svg file and select that as an image for your Launcher.
This worked for me with PokerStars and Spotify.
