mintupdate wont update........

So i saw kendalls post and decided to install the new updates i didnt have and when i open mintupdate it takes forever and it says "Downloading Safety rules" this takes an usualy long amount of time but it finaly moves on to updating the list, the bar stops at 41 of 48 and stays like that for a while then i get this error message:

The repository at packages.linuxmint.com has been down for most of the day. I'm not entirely sure what's going on there, but it's definitely an issue at this point and it affects all Mint distros.

I've been getting the message below for over a month now. Other packages update OK, but Mint seems to be broken.

Is it a problem with the Mint server or has some config somewhere been screwed up? Is there a fix?

I think you are using an incorrect address.
In a terminal run

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

The mint entry should look like this:

deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ helena upstream import backport romeo main

If it doesn't then delete the one you have and substitute the one above which does work.

EDIT. Just noticed you have posted this in a fluxbox forum so the text editor would be mousepad not gedit.
