Hey guys,
I'm attempting to install Mint Helena over Ubuntu on my Compaq Presario v6000, so i downloaded the live cd, burned that iso to a dvd, and popped it into my laptop and restarted it. From there i tried both the default "start linux mint" option, and the compatibility option as well, but both end in me recieving a black screen with nothing but the word "Loading" and a blinking underscore, and it seems to just stay like this. I've let it sit like this for about 10 minutes with no results, and the instruction manual i downloaded showed a loading splash screen that should be displayed.
Basically, i'm wondering whether this black screen is normal, and if so, how long i should wait for it to change. Any info you guys could share or any other resources you can point me towards will be greatly appreciated.
