Rankings:

* Distrowatch (popularity ranking): 1556 (3rd)
* Distrowatch (traffic share): 5% (2nd) (not accurately recorded, between 4.8% and 5.1%, strong 2nd position anyway and a clear increase in the last two months).
* Alexa (website ranking): 18,498th

Events:

* A Hardware Database was added to the Community Website: http://www.linuxmint.com/blog/?p=1234
* Linux Mint 8 KDE CE RC1 was released: http://www.linuxmint.com/blog/?p=1238
* Linux Mint 8 Fluxbox CE RC1 was released: http://www.linuxmint.com/blog/?p=1242
* mintCast released 3 episodes of their podcast: http://mintcast.org/

Summary:

* The inevitable has finally happen and the streak of “best consecutive months” is over, this month wasn’t as good as the previous one. But with such a fantastic month in December 09 and considering what’s happening now, things aren’t that bad at all.
* The overall income is down 3% and so are most of our statistics. Everything is still pretty good though. There are clear indications that our user base has been growing a lot since November 09, the distribution is getting momentum and if it wasn’t for the huge numbers we got in December, January would have looked excellent.
* The KDE and Fluxbox CE will be released in February, work has begun on the recently codenamed Linux Mint 9 “Isadora” and we should hear news about whether or not time is given, and how much of it, to the Debian CE project.

I'll donate something as soon as possible.. Also I bought the Italian version of Linux Magazine as there was the Mint CD included, in the month of january, and we were placed as 3rd most used distribution in Italy and there also was an amazing and excited review of the distribution, you're quite popular here!

Yeah, I read about the Linux Mint Magazine on this site a while back but where did you get it from I had no clue it came out yet? I don't see it in the official store section... ?

Here in South Florida theres not many technical people but the few people I knew who were into computing (mostly windows) are giving Linux Mint a shot and like it alot more than Ubuntu. A friend of mines whos going to colloge for some sort of computer stuff had ubuntu in a virtual machine emulator when I told him that Mint 8 was out he was wondering how easy it was to install? I prepped it on his usb, he downloaded the iso in like 5min (he has fast internet lol) then, after he formated his memory stick, I preped it for him and he installed it in a breeze(less than 30min to install). I got his video card up and running and enabled Compiz Fuision on it for him and he was in love with it. On my side, I notice my laptop is alot cooler when running mint vs Windows Vista. So it's cool with me. I haven't really broken into it yet becuase of some hardware(a phone) that wont tether with linux though so I can't judge until I get more money for better hardware or a better ISP lol. Anyhow CLEM I'm trying to say GREAT SOFTWARE LOVE IT! I gota donate soon to. I'm going to see how to do this donation thing and give a few dollars up in a little bit for the community. I know I said I was going to donate in another post but didn't becuase I got held back on a few dollars becuase of something that happened with my checks a few months back. I hope more people begin to bless your project Clem. The majority are already in your favour, thats half the battle, keep up the good work! I can't wait for Mint 9 to hit the download section! I'll be waiting... Peace =]-

Unluckily it's not "Linux Mint Megazine" yet, it was just "Linux Magazine" (Which is a monthly magazine we've here, probably also there?) And the main topic of this month was Linux Mint, nothing else, though.

Ah I see silly me I confuesed things. Clem should ship out the Magazine to people for free w/ a Linux Mint DVD/CD who donate a certain amount of $. Just a sugestion It would be cool to see. Like if you donate $10 or something you should get a linux Mint Mag. $15(or what ever) should get you the Mag w/ CD. $25 or more should get you the MAg, Live CD, and a special DVD with "how to's" tutorials and a special section with Clem where he gives his thaughts on the whole subject and takes some time to answer questions and explain new features himself. I think that would be cool, just being imaginative you guys don't take it the wrong way, how many think that would rock? hehe. I duno just a thiuaght hehe. :P

Peace out thanks for the speedy reply

thanks for the nice Distro Clem, Yahweh-God Bless.
