Post by dayrider47 »

Linux is not windows - but I have to use windows as a reference to ask questions - I am interested in finding a flexible mp3 audio recorder that can be used to capture streaming audio - does linux have a similiar package as the Total Recorder people do for windows - thanks - mps

Refer to long documetation at site: http://polishlinux.org/apps/multimedia/ ... -in-linux/

In short use apps like

RipperX
Sound-juicer
Grip
k3b

with the LAME or FLAC encoder

If I understood the question correctly, then Audacity is what you need.
You can record from a variety of sources, including Internet streams. The output can surely be ranging from .mp3 to .wav or .flac, provided you have the necessary codecs installed.
The application is in the Software Manager.
