KDE and Gnome on 64-bit

Postby Pauly BC on Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:55 pm

Hi all,

I have been using Ubuntu Karmic Gnome since it came out, tho I switched to Mint Helena 64-bit this weekend. I just find it to be a nicer package - more polished and more minty. I also see you just released Mint KDE edition.

Is the KDE edition recently released compatible with the 64-bit edition of Helena and Gnome? Is there a way to download and install the KDE packages so on login I can choose which session I prefer?

Thanks,
Paul :)

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You should have tried the search feature, would have been much quicker for you !

in defence of the OP, I just did a search for "install kde" and was told that the words were too common to be an acceptable search. :D

Also, those instructions don't seem to work any more--anybody else have any input on installing mint-meta-kde64 or something similar?

I agree, you cannot search for just KDE, you have to qualify it by searching for KDE3 or KDE4.
