Hey guys,
I have a pretty good working knowledge of terminal. However,
there is so much more I want to do. Plus, even though debian
and Linux Mint installs are easy. You still find times you need
the terminal.
I'm looking for some straight cut terminal pages or books.
Plus, any assistance with alien. As I want to work with files to
convert them to debian. Any suggestions or links?
Thanks ahead of time.
Patrick

Find a job as UNIX admin ... trust me, you will do *so much more* with the terminalpvossen wrote: there is so much more I want to do.
UNIX for Dummies. Seriously. It's written in a funny way so reading it is even entertaining and yet you learn a lot. It's really a good starting point.pvossen wrote: I'm looking for some straight cut terminal pages or books.
Did you try the manual page? It's quite detailed: man alienpvossen wrote: Plus, any assistance with alien.
Debian (and thus Ubuntu too) has a very large package selection. Chances are that there are Debian-native *.deb packages for almost everything. Just to mention this.pvossen wrote: As I want to work with files to convert them to debian.
