Guarddog Question?

Post by cottfcfan »

Ive just installed Guarddog on Mint 8 Kde.
Ive not messed with them before, simply enabling GUFW in gnome.
Ive managed to sort out Email & Internet access, but some things are blocked, for eg.
adding chromium ppa in Launchpad to my sources is fine, but when I click on the signing key my firewall is blocking it.
What protocol do I need to enable to allow this?
Thanx in advance.

Guarddog is a program which allows you to control Linux's firewall through a graphical interface. This means it is no more or less safe than any other "firewall" in Linux so unless you need better "fine tuning" of IPtables you don't need it
I think this guide could help you, but remember it's for Debian so things may not be exactly the same, but similar

Thanks for your reply, after reading the link I think I`ll stick with "ufw enable".
