I don't think they'll offer Antix with it exclusively, they'll probably still have sysVinit and runit too. I use sysVinit in Antix.

I for one, don't see the point of trying to ADD ON things from another Linux world to Mint.
the developers for MINT, "Clem's team" do a Fantastic Job of making it work right, out of the box.

IMO, you need to forget you ever saw that article.

So much for the spirit of enquiry and progress.

I have Antix on my old POS netbook and it's using sysVinit. I think there may be a case for it in a distro like Antix that is meant to be friendly to old/weak hardware. Systgemd isn't so friendly to the RAM challenged systems like Antix is. I used to use MX KDEuntil recently, which is not meant for old/weak hardware like Antix, contrary to popular opinion. I tried it with both sysV and systemd. I couldn't tell the difference.

However, sysVinit is abandonware. It hasn't been maintained for years. I suspect that may be the reason that Antix is thinking about switching.

The truth is that systemd is the best maintained and, perhaps more importantly, best documented init system out there.
