Hi, so I had Linux Mint on a HDD, I never had any problem with starting the PC (just the long times compared to an SSD), I bought an M.2 SSD and installed Linux Mint there. Curious thing is that sometimes it boots normally, but sometimes it says:
error: failure reading sector 0x18501a0f from `hd2'.
error: you need to load the kernel first.
Press any key to continue...
Then I press something and says:
error: failure reading sector 0x101800 from `hd2'.
error: failure reading sector 0x3b9e12a0 from `hd2'.
error: failure reading sector 0x3b9e1200 from `hd2'.
error: failure reading sector 0x0 from `hd2'.
error: disk `hd2, gpt3' not found. (27 times)
error: failure reading sector 0x3b9e12a0 from `hd2'.
error: failure reading sector 0x3b9e1200 from `hd2'.
error: failure reading sector 0x0 from `hd2'.
error: no such device: (a long code displayed)
error: disk `hd2, gpt3' not found.
error: you need to load the kernel first.
Press any key to continue...
Error at booting, sometimes.

Re: Error at booting, sometimes.
Maybe you had bad luck and came across a faulty SSD.

Re: Error at booting, sometimes.
Could that be possible? Even if 3/4 of times boots normally and 1/4 of times it does not? It is really weird.
Re: Error at booting, sometimes.
I would like to know the significance of the '3' in gpt3. How may drives are in that computer? Two, right?
Re: Error at booting, sometimes.
I have 1 M.2 SSD (with Linux Mint installed), and 2 HDD (conected by sata) I use as extra storage. I do not have linux mint installed on those (they are ext4). Also I do not know why it says gpt3 because I only have 1 partition in both HDD. It is really weird.
Re: Error at booting, sometimes.
In fact in my terminal is not displayed anywhere hd2. Just nvme01n1 with 3 partitions, sda and sdb. So I would say that the PC sometimes think there is Linux installed in a non existant hd2 and tries to load it? But how? Where is getting the PC at start up that information? and only sometimes?.

I don't really have good suggestions. We are waiting for better help.
In the meantime, it wouldn't do any hard to do this:
Check disk health - disk failure
S.M.A.R.T. or Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology
