[ NOT SOLVABLE ] Windows boots without password request after power down of LMDE!

Post by Bertium »

I have a dualboot system WIN11/LMDE6.
Both partition need a password to login.

But:
If I login under WIN11 and restart again under LMDE6 and then shut down, the next
login under WIN11 does not need/ask for a password!

This is very strange.
Is there a way to setup the system, that after PD generally a password entering is required?
I think this is a savety mistake in the SW.

If I do it in the opposite direction, Linux always requires a password, so this is ok. So the mistake is
only active if the restart was done on the WIN11 side.

Thanks Bert

p,s,
I checked the PW manager under win11 and found, that the password was deleted. I set it again and it works now correct again.
I am 100% sure I never deleted the PW. The effect appeared after last update for LMDE6. Is it possible that linux interferes with
the other partition? Win11 is totally isolated from networks and internet. I hold it only if I need the PC to give it away in original
condition and use the little free space for backups.

I never heard of a Linux installation deleting login credentials stored in a Windows partition.

Yep, rather more likely that a damn Windows update did that.

I am not an IT specialist but is it possible, that settings in this UEFI can affect such affairs? This UEFI seems a very powerful and mighty program.
I will observe the behavior of the system of course.

So long and thanks.. ;)
