I have an old Dell Dimension with an integrated video Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 01).
Current kernel 2.6.31-17 will look into upgrading it in the near future.
Hoping to get this stable enough to get on the rest of the family's laptops.

That is a stumper.... Have you tried the drivers off Nividia's site?
In my case I had a quad core and an integrated video chip. 1 problem was (I think) the cpufreq. Earlier Debian/Ubuntu kernels didn't co-operate to well with them. I also spent ~$40 to get a graphics card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

I'm running an HP Pavilion a6720y.
I also had freezes on a Dell Optiplex 760 until I updated the kernel and added a card.
This was Ubunutu Mint 7/ and Ubunutu Jaunty.
