Greek subtitles when viewing a movie?

Post by mikpap »

No matter what player I use I can't see greek subtitles when playing a movie (srt format for subs). I have installed msttcorefonts, I have change the character set to ..-7 (greek capable fonts and encoding page) but still nothing. I see only dots or numbers. No letters appear at all. The dots and the numbers are supposed to be there (for instance if a phrase has any number it will be there). Any ideas? Up until now I used VLC Player (I could change through advanced settings the character set) but it seems not to work now (I see a black screen, I hear the sound but no picture - and if someone asks, yes I have changed everything time after time trying to figure out what's wrong). Any ideas?

I obviously don't need greek subtitles :) The swedish ones have worked so far, so I've not looked into this before.
I'll give you some links, hopefully they are useful. And the one in greek I just guess is relevant :)
