instalar software con virtual box

Post by poto »

hola.
He consultado varios posteos anteriores pero aún no he resuelto el problema.
muchas gracias.

Do you mean, you want to install operating system in virtual box? If yes, you must have CD/DVD or ISO images of booting system that contain software you want to install. Then on Virtual box, click New, then follow instruction on screen. After finish, you can click start, then at tool menu, you can choose mount CD/ISO file. Wish help you.

no, that's not what i mean. I've allready installed virtual box succesfully and can work with a bunch of linux distros from the iso images i've downloaded and with windows xp too.
My problem is i can't open the cd drive when i wish to install a software that works only on windows. Say, i got an scanner which linux can't work with, so i'd like to work with this scanner opening virtual box without having to restart the system and work on windows vista. Unluckily don't know how to open the cd crive to install the scanner software on this virtual windows xp. If i press the button to open or to expel a cd it doesn't respond. I've have to quit virtual box and try with mint to insert any kind of cd on the machine.I suppose i can install any kind of software compatible with windows on my virtual machine working on windows xp, right?
thanks.
