Can't change Desktop Theme!

Post by cottfcfan »

Ive just upgraded my Mint to KDE 4.4.1, and now can't change the theme from the default "Air".
If I go to System Settings/Advanced/desktop Theme Details, I have the choice of Air & Oxygen, but it won't let me change from the default Air.
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Linux Mint
Sounds like you may have some broken theme files. I would first download some other themes & try to switch to them first, If that works , you could delete the old themes & reinstall & see if it will let you get what you need to resolve your issue.
Hope this gives you some Ideas, Have a Good Day.

Thats partly my problem.
I can download new themes from kde.org, but there seems no way to install them.
On previous kde versions, it was simply a case of installing the theme from Desktop or wherever, and applying.
But there seems to be no option to do this in 4.4.1, unless i'm looking in the wrong place.
