Burn effect in compiz(SOLVED)

Post by MayorMcCheese »

I've been playing around with the effects from compiz after I saw a youtube video(somewhere in the forums)

I have animations enabled, but the burn effect isn't on my list, I've installed compiz-fusion-plugins-extra

I looked on the compiz plugin wiki site and it's listed but there's no download for it.

has this plugin been discontinued? or does someone know how to add it?

thanks

And you've checked the CompizConfig Settings Manager? Burn effect should appear under animations. You might have to install this I can't recall.

Go to Menu=>Preferences=>CompizConfig Settings Manager and enable Animation Add-ons under Effects. The burn effect is in there.

I beg to differ. I have occupied the "idiot" spot more times than I care to admit!

The only idiot is the one who refuses to learn.

Very few in this forum fit that definition. In fact, very few Linux users fit it.

"Animation Addons" is not in CCSM for some reason. I've installed everything I need for Compiz to run and works fine, but those extra effects are missing. Not sure why, any ideas? Running Linux Mint XFCE 13.

I'm having this issue in a fresh install of 17.1 mate. The animation addons icon is missing.
I have tried installing compiz-fusion-plugins-extra but is listed as not found.
I can't seem to find a solution..
