I've been looking for this for a while, I can't find anything useful through google, and I don't have a lot of hope in finding an answer, but I thought I'd try anyway.
I'd like nautilus to open folders in a new tab instead of a new window when I do something like stick in a USB or dvd or open a folder from the desktop or other program. At the moment, the only way to open a folder in a new tab is to open it from nautilus. I s'pose I'd just like nautilus to behave more like firefox. Does anyone know if this is doable, or am I being optimistic?

Re: Tabs in Nautilus
I know what you're asking, but I don't have an answer. Would like to know this one myself, but never got around to asking. Not sure it's doable, but then, not sure it's not either. Sorry, nothing useful to add.
Re: Tabs in Nautilus
Can't say that I've seen anything like that in any file browser.
Re: Tabs in Nautilus
Seeing as nautilus won't even let you drag two windows together in order to condense them into tabs, I have a feel that this may not be possible with nautilus in its current state. I could be mistaken but I wouldn't be overly optimistic.
