[SOLVED ]Live CD runs only in safe graphics mode

The display will work when (and if) you install the driver for the video card (If it is an ATI you may have problems with Beryl and the like)
Linux can be installed in a logical partition

No.
whatever you install in Live will not be there after install of Mint.

install while in safe graphics mode and then boot off the hard disk and use envy to install the nvidia graphics driver.
some laptop nvidia video cards dont always work with the nv dirver. it is like they are too new.

looking at the nvidia site it looks like that card is not supported yet.

so you would have to use the vesa driver used in safe mode. :(

I studied nvidia's driver page and go 7150 seems unsupported. I'm certain support will be added.
To get the vesa driver just do as int the troubleshooter for the liveCD, this part

you simply type in vesa as this is a built in "emergency" driver
And normally nvidia has excellent support in Linux....
