Linux Mint - Mediacenter

Post by Hendrik »

Hi,
I'm new at the Mint community, soI'm sorry
if this were posted allready, but something I realy whould like to see at Mint is
some kind of Mediacenter.
What do you guys think of a Fullscreen programm, that manages all your media?
Maybe also things like:
-games
-chat
-news
-(tv)

All that is added into a programm that can be simply used by scolling and clicking and
just makes it easy to watch videos at some broadcasting services.

please post some comments.
thx
Hendrik

Check out "Moovidia" and the associated plugins available in Synaptic Package Manager. This sounds like what you are describing.

I've found Boxee to be far better than moovida or xbmc. It isn't in the repos but you can download the .deb package from their website and it installs just fine
with gdebi.
