After literally dozens of problems with Ubuntu Kubuntu, and Xubuntu 10.04 I tried Mint and the only problem I still have is Thunderbird crashes when getting mail, a problem I bypassed by running the Windows version in wine. I may not especially care for the green but that was quickly and easily enough changed to my favorite grayish. It works great and I plan to stay around a while. :D

Welcome. I haven't tried Thunderbird on Mint 9 yet, mainly because I use GMail. Since I am on the search engine many times a day it's no big deal to check my email while there. Have fun and enjoy Mint.
