Just wanna start by saying I love Mint 9. I used to use Ubuntu 9.10 on my laptop but kept running into minor annoying issues with video and audio until my professor suggested I use Mint and haven't looked back since. The ease and feel of the OS is just what I was looking for.
I am also looking to expand my knowledge in Linux so I was wondering if there are any good tutorials or books I can read up on.

Welcome! The best thing you could do is search these forums and also do some Google searches (if you use Google -- any search engine will do, of course). There's a lot out there. One that I like to mention is:
