sata dvd burner

i have two sata burners
how do i get mint to detect them
i installed k3b and it could not find my sata burners

are they listed in your /etc/fstab file?

were they present at install?

the irqpoll boot option could do the trick.
and you can test it before making it permanent.

mine worked from install.

I am using a Samsung SATA burner and it is working fine. It works exactly as though it was an standard unit. Although I use GNOME, not KDE.

PS hope this doesn't appear like reviving a dead thread.
