[ 54.763751] Dazed and confused, but trying to continue
does any one know what does that mean?

Re: boot message
A colleague of mine has the very same message on his brand new Intel Core 2 Duo laptop with Gentoo Linux. Seems this is related to a minor problem with too new hardware e.g. the Linux kernel doesn't support it fully yet. I guess this will be soon fixed with a newer kernel release.Ramint wrote:[ 54.763647] Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 2d CPU 0.

Well in fact no, it's the first generation of P4.nelamvr6
Is it a notebook? Do you have any power management schemes enabled?
and the weirdest thing is that I have Linux mint running on my new server with a raid controler, dual display, and every thing is working smoothly and as it should, no problem at all.
that's what's daziling me.[/quote]
