Though I've had a copy of Gloria running on a laptop for at least a year, this last week was my first exposure to the XFCE edition. I installed a copy of it on an old laptop and I was delighted at how well it ran on that old P3. Now it's taken over my house - it's on my main desktop, 2 old laptops, one newer laptop and after tonight, my daughter's desktop and netbook. Hmmm, it's green and it's spreading rapidly...may be it's kudzu!
This really is an impressive distro - my newer laptop's wireless has never worked under Vista, but runs like a champ on Mint, as does my quirky HP P1006 printer, though I did have to compile the foo driver for it. My daughter had originally wanted me to set her desktop up as dual boot, but after seeing Mint in action, she no longer wants Windows on it at all. Another convert!
Glad to be here!
