VCD Error

Post by antiquexray »

I have a VCD that will not play on any of my DVD players. It will play on M$ after I downloaded a free VCD player. It will even play on
MPlayer, but I get the following error:

ioctl difl: Input/output error (at least I remember it saying. I'm at work now and away for my Mint Box...Google search want's it to be difla:)

I've messed with the video preferences, but it either gives the same error message while playing the VCD, or it won't play at all.

So, what does this mean, can it be fixed, or is there a way to convert the VCD to another format?

BTW, VLC won't play it either.

VCD Error

Post by antiquexray »

Ok, an update, the error is:

ioctl dif1: input/output error

Well, I've found that if at terminal you enter:

mplayer vcd://2

It runs without the error. Now, for all you gurus, why and how do I fix it so I can lauch without having to go through terminal?

HELP!

It seems you have to kick start the disk
Create a program launcher (right click on the desktop) and put
mplayer vcd://2
in there as the command
Not quite sure if it works but try it...
