Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

DO WANT! Very pretty. The exclusion of Beagle is also welcome.

I'm always kinda chicken when it comes to BETA versions, though. If any other brave souls want to test drive this baby, please report any bugs you run into, so us cowards can wait until it's more stable. :)

It's as stable as we could make it. "BETA" means we make it available for 1 or 2 weeks so the community can have the opportunity to find bugs we didn't find ourselves...

If it was broken and we knew about it, it would be called "ALPHA" :)

Haha! "ALPHA version now available" would be hilarious.

I understand it's as stable as you could make it.

EDIT: I'm convinced. I'm going to burn this baby as soon as I can. Christ it's pretty.

Gutsy move on the update notifier as well. I think you made the right choice there.

Please seed the torrent guys.

About the updates thing: When I first saw it I thought it was a stupid move. Then, I realized that the user can upgrade "safe" packages through synaptic.

I think that you guys should have a constantly updated list of software that is safe to upgrade.

I for one love Beagle.... particularly the "Kerry Beagle" version. It indexes my entire network of shared drives on 7 computers so it's easy find anything in seconds. Everyone has their preferences. I hope at least it will be an optional install from synaptic.
I am going down on.... uh, I mean, I am downloading Celena right now, I leave feedback later.

From the Release Notes:
# Solid package base (Google Earth, Picasa, Skype.. a lot of important software present in the repositories or in the Linux Mint Software Portal, compatibility with all Ubuntu Feisty repositories and most Debian packages)
# Solid code base (Debian distribution built on top of Ubuntu Edgy. Inherits all innovations put into Bianca and default configurations from Bea)

Is Celena based on Edgy or Feisty? :?

I'm hoping Edgy because Feisty broke the suspend on my laptop... go ahead clem.... lie to me

Regarding the new artwork:

Not to be picky, but the "Linux Mint" "web 2.0"-style logo has the reflection fading in the wrong direction, hasn't it?

Yes, Edgy or Feisty, after all?
