How about x-terminal-session? It's a package I made a while back (link) that adds an option for "Terminal" to your GDM (or KDM) menu. The option launches the default terminal (x-terminal-emulator) and the default window manager (x-window-manager) to make it look pretty.
In Mint's case, this is gnome-terminal and metacity. This also causes gnome-settings-daemon to load the desktop background, which was unintentional but is something I like.

Version 0.136 is in the repo, but I'd like to see it updated to the current stable version. As of version 0.136u1, SDLMAME has been merged with MAME so there will no longer be dedicated SDLMAME releases.

I would be very fine to have KeePass Password Safe 2.12 (a password manager) in repos. KeePass Password Safe 2.12 is much better than KeepassX on several ways:

1) It has a better and more attractive GUI
2) It support KeepassX files but it also support a newer and better file type, with more capabilities.
3) It is OSI Certified Open Source Software
4) Its developer add new features frequently

Currently in the repos is labyrinth, VYM, Freemind. In the last couple of years developers have done quite a bit of work in this field. Neither of these are that pictorial which is what i'm hoping for to use in schools.

The following recent applications have taken quite a step forward. I have compiled in the past with limited success but when there's a problem i haven't got the technical knowledge to remedy problems. I'd be particularly grateful if you'd consider Freeplane (developed from Freemind with added features) but the others aswell if it's not too much work. There must be other folk that do Mind Mapping. Xmind is ok as is vym but i think Freeplane promises to be better.

GNUcash 2.4 is out, -sort of-. The GNUcash sourceforge page shows 2.4 is out (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnucash/), and I think it would be handy if it would be built for 9 and 10. Is there any chance this could get done?

I'm kind of new here, so if this isn't the right place to request this, please let me know and point me to a better location for it.
