I knew mint could not do it. I tried Amanda before and I will revisit it again. I could not get Amanada to work last time. I will try the other ones you sent

hi,

using mint backup tool 2.0.6, i tried to do a backup of my home folder to the desktop and received the following error message:

[errno13] permission denied: /home/abwip-07/.gvfs
warning: some files were not saved, copied: 8012 files out 8013 total

i understand that .gvfs is a gnome virtual file system, but haven't got a clue as to how to solve this problem. although the message indicates "some files were not saved", NO files were saved to the desktop.

any ideas?

thanks
