I have been wanting to try out Unity, but I don't want to install Ubuntu/Mint Main. Does anybody have any feedback on installing Unity on LMDE? I remember on Ubuntu it caused some problems with the GNOME desktop, and I don't want to go through any problems for the sake of trying a new UI.
How would I go about installing Unity alongside GNOME?

Re: Unity on LMDE
what do you think about installing it in a VM?
but you can also install the unity package: http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/unity
my to cents to unity... it looks like a playground for kiddys... but each to their own.

Re: Unity on LMDE
Not going to work in a VM; it's running on Mutter, not Compiz/Metacity which is unsupported on Virtualbox and other VMs.
Re: Unity on LMDE
I left Ubuntu because of Unity (among other things).
It's horrible on my Eee, worse on a desktop or laptop.
