Hello everyone,
This is my first time with Linux Mint but I do have some experience in both Ubuntu and Gentoo, however, this was years ago when I first learned about linux! When I did mess around with Ubuntu and Gentoo, I loved every minute of it (especially learning how to do stuff in the terminal!). Since I've worked on 3 different linuxes, I prefer Gentoo but I'm warming up to Linux Mint. I love Gentoo because when you install it, you have to do it through code and merge/compile everything. (I also have some experience in MS-DOS which is why I like doing intermediate things in command-line) Of course I've forgotten how to do all that since it's been 4-5 years since I last touched Linux but I feel it'll all come back. I also know that Ubuntu and Gentoo are two different entities and not all codes work between all the distributions.
Other than that, I'm a simple man trying to get out of the Windows shadow (even though I do dual boot because as far as Linux as come to being "user friendly" as Mac and Windows, there aren't a lot of games and mainstream programs out there that are coded for Linux). I love the GNU public license and if I can get around to it, I want to learn C++ so I can make and code my own programs...math is what's stopping me!
See you guys on the forums, I'll have a lot of questions!
