It seems that there is a cross-dependency between "flashplugin-nonfree" and "mint-meta-debian" packages.
In order to install "mint-flashplugin" I have to remove "flashplugin-nonfree", but then "mint-meta-debian" package will also be removed. Now if i try to re-install "mint-meta-debian" package, Synaptic wants to remove "mint-flashplugin" and install "flashplugin-nonfree".
- Is there any other way to install "mint-flashplugin"?
- Could anyone please explain what "mint-meta-debian" package is.
Thanks.

Re: mint-meta-debian and mint-flashplugin
I found the answer in this thread: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=56170Could anyone please explain what "mint-meta-debian" package is.
From the above, I can see that removing "flashplugin-nonfree" and "mint-meta-debian" in order to install "mint-flashplugin", is a "safe" mess.vincent wrote:mint-meta-debian is just a meta-package, i.e. a package that doesn't actually have anything in it, but depends upon a selection of other packages. This is simply a convenient way to install groups of packages, and removing the meta-package itself is harmless.
I will mark the thread as solved.
