Hi Guys,
Been interested in Linux for about 2 years now although I stopped using it earlier this year. The main reason was that Lucid Lynx didn't want to play nice with the Raid configuration on my new rig. So now I recently tried Maverick Meerkat and low and behold my raid disks work out of the box. What was disappointing was that Ubuntu is now completely unrecognisable from what it was when I first started using it in the Hardy Heron days. Had LM recommended to me and here I am now.
Just want to say its a great distribution and has a very nice layout for the desktop as well as the addition of worthwhile functionality as well as minimal added bloat. I will certainly be sending the project donations from time to time as finances permit.
My main motivation at the moment for returning to Linux are a desire to get involved in Android development. Linux is nicer OS to work in for development than Windows. Besides that I have really missed the nice clean world of Gnome. Looking forward to LM10 KDE edition when it is available too
