Cut & Paste (SOLVED)
Can anyone please explain why I cannot cut and paste instructions from the forum into a terminal.

The terminal (well, at least gnome-terminal) uses ctrl+SHIFT+c to copy, and ctrl+SHIFT+v to paste. The reason the shift key is needed is because commands like ctrl + c are reserved for other functions (i.e. ctrl + c stops any active terminal commands).

If you have a middle mouse wheel . . . a middle-click in the terminal will paste whatever you had highlighted previously with your mouse . .

The ctrl+shift+c & v does not work on my system but copying the info by right clicking and then in a terminal using the middle button of the mouse works a treat.

I don't even right-click . . .just highlight the text (just a drag with the left), then change focus to the terminal and middle-click . . .
