I'm back :)

Post by Penguinclaw »

I've always loved the look and feel of linuxMint (far more sophisticated than ubuntu!); but sadly in the past have never managed to configure my Maudio soundcard with pulseaudio. This is a deal breaker for me as I purchased the card specifically for high quality sound! However, in spite of my wife's caution, I came back and spent a good 4 hours hacking (when I was ill) and I've got beautiful sound (no removing it either)! I'm pleased to bits with my achievement! And as for the Mint.... wow how you have come along! Sad as it maybe, I can't wait to switch my pc on and just enjoy it! No niggles, everything so far works like a charm. Well done all involved :)

ps I've been a linux user for about 5 years and tried many distros! Also I'm usually I'm a kde fanboy but this Gnome Julia is really good!

Glad you're back Penguinclaw. Yes, one of the attractions of Linux is that when it's done right it works great, Like Mint 10 Julia. Another, as you pointed out, is the wonderful feeling of achievement that comes with successfully solving things in Linux. It's truly and OS you can work with.
