Thanks for posting this in the forum, as well. The sooner the news gets out, the better.
I already posted a link to the blog notice on identi.ca for the !mint group.

Oh yeah, I also posted to the !debian and !ubuntu groups on identi.ca just in case some folks there would be interested in the 201101 LMDE re-spin.
With some folks having issues with the 2010-12 32-bit ISO, this news should really help them out.
I took care of the "dents," but since I do not use Twitter, perhaps someone else will handle the !mint "tweets."

Just for a datapoint, I downloaded this from the torrents today, burnt it to a DVD using Brasero from Mint 8 Universal edition, and installed it on my Dell d600. Perfect success! I then installed all of the updates (via ethernet cable).
Next, when I get the time, I have to do the necessary reading to learn how to make the Broadcom wireless card work, and I'm in business.
So for now, I have to say it's a rousing success! Thanks! ! ! !

Thanks, I will definitely give that a go.
Oh, also I thought I should mention that I did not need to use compatibility mode when booting the Live CD. I don't know if that is particularly useful information, but previously I've often had to use compatibility mode with various versions of Ubuntu based Mint (not with Mint 10 though).

Sorry to say it will not load the live dvd on my desktop computer.
it brings up the Ready and then just sits and blinks..
I have installed it on my laptop and all is well so its not the dvd.
I have never had this problem with any other system.
At the moment i am running the last 2 versions of mint, 10 and the lts version
Thanks for all your troubles.. i will be waiting in the wings .

So you're saying it loads fine on your laptop (like it did on mine), and will not load on your desktop?
