Hi
I have looked through the forum and can't seem to find the answer. I have a lot of ext USB drives and they are getting full. I need to be able to see the disk space left at a glance to know which drive to move files to. I can't seem to configure the file manager to show the free space at the root level. I.E view all drives and see free space. Do I need to change the file manager I am using or is there a special trick I am missing.
This is a vanilla install of 64bit LMDE and I simply use the default programs and have updated it when prompted,
Thanks in advance... Zeb

Use Gparted from the applications menu, it will be under Administration. Also Nautilus does display the free space at the bottom of the window and the drives in the side panel. You could mount them and see their free space.

Re: Newbie Question on File Manager Use
Hi Thanks for the swift reply... just tried that and it only shows one drives partitions at a time... For ease of use I need to see all drives at the same time.

Re: Newbie Question on File Manager Use
I will play around some more with gparted but it does not seem to be the solution I need as it only views one disk at a time
Thanks again Zeb...

Re: Newbie Question on File Manager Use
I don't know if you can have what you want in Nautilus itself but to find out how mush space is available per partition you can run the following command:
Code: Select all
df -h
Please add a [SOLVED] at the end of your original subject header if your question has been answered and solved.
