Postby BlahBlah_X on Wed Oct 03, 2007 4:31 pm

Well here's the story. I have the Celena cd trimmed down to 550mb, but Daryna will be released so soon and the first beta isn't even ready yet.

For Daryna edition, I will be working backwards. By this, I mean that instead of starting with the gnome edition and trimming things off, I will start with an ubuntu minimal install and mintify it.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

That sounds like a great idea! There will not be any residual config files to waste the desktop! The last two KDE editions were fine until I removed the residual config files,(I lost the whole Mint configured desktop both times.)

Starting with the Ubuntu minimal install should make for a very stable system!

I think it would be easier to keep cutting down your current version and then when 7.10 comes out dist-upgrade and clean/fix up from there.

the minimal ubuntu versions are not live so that will give you more challenges to build a mini edition but it would be great for older computers.
