gnome-panel issue

Post by DeaQz »

I've tried the search function (because I thought more people have this problem...) but no luck.

Problem is showed below:

My gnome-panel is on a very odd place. I've tried to place it "onder" (under) but it keep going back at the place shown in the example. How do I solve this permanently?

thnx

Hi!
Don't knowing if this will help. When I had problems with the panel, I run in a Terminal:

Code: Select all

killall gnome-panel
But I can't give you guarantee.
In any case I would first add a Terminal ICON to the desktop - to have access to it.

Hi!
Did you try right click on panel > properties?

Edit: Oh, as I see now, yes.

After the kill-all command the bar has moved down a centimeter... I've tried it a couple of times after that but no is stays at the same height.

Have you tried clicking either of the arrow buttons on the end of each side on the panel, and dragging the panel back to the top?

Rebuild gnome-panels might be of use to you. This should rebuild your gnome-panel you will probably have to set it up how you want it afterwards.

Code: Select all

gconftool-2 --shutdown
gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/panel
rm -rf ~/.gconf/apps/panel
pkill gnome-panel
Locked
